Valentines Day Is Around The Corner

February 11, 2012 at 11:45 pm (Uncategorized)

Valentine’s Day is this Monday. I have some fond memories of the important day for sweethearts. My sweetheart would buy me a pink stuffed animal every year. We would go out to dinner and spent some time together. My husband passed away in 1990 from his disease. After my husband had died, I was left to raise our four-year old son.I always tried to make the Holidays special for Levi. I would pick him up from school, then we would go out to dinner and either go shopping at a toy store or go roller skating(I was much younger). We had fun together. I would get Levi a small box of candy and a hot wheel car because he collected them to play with of course! Sometimes my parents would take Levi on a short trip with them for the weekend. It was nice to be able to get a breather from being a mom for a couple of days.

I took Gizmo to the doggy daycare this morning. She is so funny. She jumped off the bed at the doggysitter’s house and played with Daisy the other old lady dog in the house. Daisy gets so depressed when she does not see her friend. Daisy just sits in front of the window for hours and does not move. gizmo just goes to bed and does not get up on my days off. (A little depression going on here?)

gizmo LOVES the compost pile outside. She loves to dig for rotten potatoes, get filthy, smelly, and roll around in the compost pile AND the chicken manure pile as well. She comes home happy, but stinks! There is a chicken in the backyard at the doggy daycare. The chicken runs up behind Gizmo, flapping it’s wings and trying to get Gizmo to move. Gizmo is deaf and she just stands there. The chicken hauls to a dead stop and just stands the looking at Gizmo. When I come to pick up the dog, Daisy just looks so sad because she knows Gizmo is going home now. They are both old dogs other than going outside to pee, they find a spot to sleep. Oh if life could be so nice….
