And the robins are gone again

February 28, 2012 at 3:43 am (Uncategorized)

It snowed here yesterday. We had six inches of snow. it was a cold, dreary day. I never have the luxury of staying home even on snow days. But saturday, and Sunday I stayed home where it was dry, warm and comfortable. I caught up on things around the house I never have the time to do like, clean behind the fridge and dryer. I also fixed the shower door. Oh what fun on a day off. Gizmo never turned over all day. She dived under her blanket and stayed there all day. Must be because of her very busy week she had. I got up today, and it was sixteen degrees at six a.m. Gizmo was blissful in dream land before I rudely awoke her to take her outside in the cold air to her dismay.

Gizmo and Daisy had so much FUN this last week. I wish I could play this hard instead of earing a paycheck to take care of us. Oh wait, I used to say this comment when I was a single parent to my son. Anyway, Gizmo and Daisy went outside to play. The girls did not have any ambition of doing anything but running around the yard for a while. Well… the daycare’s son went outside to shoo the chickens back into the pen. Gizmo looked at Daisy and the chase was on. One dog went one way the other dog went across the yard the other way to scatter the chickens. The dogs hid behind the chicken coop and spied where the chickens were. A (son) was shooing them into the pen. when to chickens were all in a circle, the dogs leaped out and ran right into the middle of the chickens. Then the dogs went to roll into the manure pile and dig in the compost pile. When A. tried to make Gizmo come inside the house, Gizmo looked at A with a look like No Way I am NOT ready to come inside yet. Well she got picked up anyway. A had her on the porch, Gizmo tried to escape between his legs. She was brought into he house. Gizmo got some water and wanted out again. She was not let out. Gizmo had her lime green blanket right next to daycare’s lady chair. Gizmo was mad at having to come in,she dragged her blanket across the room to the entertainment cabinet, made a hole in her blanket and put her head in the blanket and went to sleep. There she stayed until I picked her up. For a fifteen year old deaf and supposedly blind dog, there is nothing wrong with her personality.

When it snowed this weekend, we had winds up to forty miles an hour also. I tried to put Gizmo outside to pee. Well when she went out, the wind kicked up, Gizmo just turned around and went back into  the house. When she finally did go outside, she went on the side of the house by the back door. Poor thing, the snow was coming off the roof and dive bombing her. She decided she had enough of the cold wet stuff for a while. I wanted to get some pictures of her frolicking in the snow. No such deal could be made.
