It Is Summer Somewhere

June 10, 2012 at 9:00 pm (Uncategorized)

I am beginning to wonder if we are going to have any summer this year at all.

It is June 10th and still 50 degrees outside today. My Pastor teases it will snow on July 4th. he may be right you know. It has happened in the past.

I can not believe the school year is over already. I used to dread summer when my son was young. I had to pray that I had a babysitter the day I had to work. Mom and dad started watching Levi in grade school. They owned a motor home. Every July 4th, a big group of my parent’s friends would gather at Houser Lake and camp for the week. Mom and dad would take my son fishing early in the morning and bbq the catch of the day. My dad was so fun, if dad was not feeling well, Levi and his grandpa would camp in the motor home in the front drive way. My parents loved to go to the hot springs.Levi would get to swim in the pool and camp in the KOA camp grounds.I am so glad he had great summers.

I am trying to plant a Memorial Garden for Levi in the back yard. I have an area almost prepared to plant. it is hard to believe my son has been gone five years now. I try to submit a story every July for the local paper to remember my son’s life.
