The cartoon pretty much says it all,

Some people are over with the snow. Sometimes Mother Nature has the last laugh and it isn’t spring untill May. I don’t mind the snow and cold though. I moved here with my family 33 years ago for the four seasons. I have fond memories of my parents hosting the sledding parties. Dad would pull everyone around the neighborhood in his 1946 Willie’s jeep. When we couldn’t feel our fingers and toes anymore, we all went into the house for cookies and hot cocoa. I miss the good old days. it seems like my parents hosted the family dinners for many years. When my dad became ill, we went to the neighbors for holiday dinners.

I look forward to March. There are plays and concerts I would like to see. I am so crazy busy with family obligations, work and writing, I sometimes forget there is ME. Ever forget you? We can get so caught up in parenting, caring for our aging parents, tax time, we forget to breathe. It is easy to become overwhelmed at times. It is to early for a vacation, can’t run away(or can we?) no we can’t we are the responsible ones.

March is March Memoir madness; I have been working on five new stories. I have reflected on the past six years of my life and the changes that have occured. In many respects I have grown as a person, and learned how to let go of the son I dearly love. In July 2007, my son set off with some friends to float the river, by that evening, both our lives were forever changed. Levi was involved in a fatal car accident. I  wondered how I could survive such a loss. With the love and support of family and friends, I am moving forward daily in the good things God still has for me. Life is hard, and life is good indeed!
