Yesterday Once More

I remember back when my son was in grade school, the neighborhood gang wanted to set up a lemonade stand in the front yard. I told the boys I would buy the ingredients, but they would have to set up the stand, make the lemonade and then sell it. Towards the end of the afternoon, a police officer was patrolling our neighborhood. My son was cleaning up the lemonade stand when the officer came by to say hello to the boys. My sweet son walked over with two cups of lemonade and gave them to the police officers. I can still remember him saying”you guys work hard to protect us, this lemonade is on me”. the police officer was not only touched, but paid Levi and his friends for the lemonade.

I hold on to the precious memories I have like this one. my sweet son was involved in a tragic car accident in 2007. he was only 20. I write often about making lasting memories, for one day you will look back on them and be thankful you have them. Kindness is a gift we all can pass on. It is amazing how the simplest act can make the biggest impacts on someones life.

Be blessed my friends.

There are many experiences in life that bring great pain. It is important that we channel that pain into positive memories or actions to help others. I’m so very sorry for the loss of your son. His special act of kindness to the police officers spoke highly of his character and his upbringing. You should be very proud.
