Things that annoy us all

November 4, 2012 at 3:29 am (Uncategorized) ()

You know your having a bad day when….

1.You have to try on a pair of sunglasses with that stupid little plastic thing in the middle of them…..

2.The person behind you in the supermarket runs his cart into the back of your ankle…..

3.The elevator stops on every floor and nobody gets on…..

4.There’s always a car riding your tail when you’re slowing down to find an address…..

5.You open a can of soup and the lidfalls in…..

6.It’s bad enough that you step in dog poo, but you don’t
realize it till you walk across your living room rug…..

7.The tiny red string on the Band-Aid wrapper never works for you…..

8.There’s a dog in the neighborhood that barks at EVERYTHING…

9.You can never put anything back in a box the way it came…

10.Three hours and three meetings after lunch you look in the mirror and discover a piece of parsley stuck to your front tooth…..

11.You drink from a soda can into which someone has extinguished a cigarette…..

12.You slice your tongue licking an envelope…..

13.Your tire gauge lets out half the air while you’re trying to get a reading…..

14.A station comes in brilliantly when you’re standing near the radio, but buzzes, drifts and spits every time you move away…..

15.There are always one or two ice cubes that won’t pop out of the tray…..

16.You wash a garment with a tissue in the pocket and your entire laundry comes out covered with lint…..

17.The car behind you blasts its horn because you let a pedestrian finish crossing…..

18.A piece of foil candy wrapper makes electrical contact with your filling…..

19.You set the alarm on your digital clock for 7pm instead of 7am…..

20.The radio station doesn’t tell you who sang that…..

21.You rub on hand cream and can’t turn the bathroom doorknob to get out…..

22.People behind you on a supermarket line dash ahead of you to a counter just opening up…..

23.Your glasses slide off your ears when you perspire…..

24.You can’t look up the correct spelling of a word in the dictionary because you don’t know how to spell it…..

“Healing in the Storms” will be out One year October 25,2010. I have put together an interview on my Healing in the Storms page on FB. it has been a great learning experience in marketing the book. It had been a lot of hard work involved but also so much fun.

second book. The next book is coming along. I have had fun trying to fit in writing right now. I work 10 hour days and then come home and write and then go to bed. It has been fun to remeber life on the ranch, riding my horse in the orchard behind our house in Moorpark. I will keep you posted how the new book is progressing.

The Computer Was Down.

September 3, 2011 at 3:48 am (Uncategorized) (, , , , , , , )

We had this storms a couple of nights ago, I was online and I had a power surge. The computer went off. My friend calls tech. support through my cable company. A technition came out tonight told me I had something wrong with my hard drive. I was upset because the computer I use belonged to my deceased son. I want to keep using the computer for as long as possible. I went to the neighbors behind me, the neighbor had the computer fixed in 5 minutes. the technition was her for over an hour tonight. I am blessed I have my computer back now and I can update all my websites.

I have submitted a couple more stories to magazines. I also signed up for my clesses I wanted to take. The first class is September 20th. I will be learning more how to free lance write articles and how to blog better. I would like to be able to blog stories people want to keep reading and coment on.

School starts already Tuesday. I can’t beleive summer is already over. I have always liked the fall of the year more than any other season we have in the Northwest. i like the changing of the fall colors and the cool crisp air. I like the first time I have to put on my jacket. I love to take fall drives and see all the changing colors.

I had a good week. I will find out tomorrow if Imy lastest story is printed in the Good News paper. I get excited when I see a story was published. I get great feed back when my friends read the stories. People tell my they are inspired by my stories. I am glad friends kept telling me to get my book published and write some stories for magazines. I never thought it would be this good. I look forward to what this season will bring in my life. Jeff and I will turn 50 in a couple weeks. I am ventering into some classes I never thought I would take. One is on Voice overs on the radio. The other class I will be taking is Making movie magic. I want to learn how to make movies and put audio and narration to the movies. It is shaping up to be a great fall of the year for me. Hey I am back ibn school to. I just didn’t have to spend a ton of money on a new wardrobe.

The End of Summer

August 31, 2011 at 3:35 am (Uncategorized) (, , , , , , , )

I can not believe that school in Post Falls is starting on Tuesday.I remeber when I saw the children leaping for joy and the parents groaning like I used to but that was because I always had to try to find day care on short notice for my son Levi. I had a good summer this year. I had the pleasure of meeting some good people at some book signings this summer, had some good BBQ’s, had a family reunion this summer.

I have submitted two more stories for two magazines this last week. One story is for Bliss Victoria, and the other story is for Country America magazine. I am satisfied with how the free-lance writing is coming along. A friend told me about a book that was being published for the “Chicken Soup Books”, I submitted a story to them and I am waiting to hear if the story is accepted. i didn’t think i would be writing stories for books or magazines. This is pretty fun. for one, the stories stretch your writing capabilities, and two, I am getting to write for magazines I have loved for many years and would give anything to have a story printed.

I will be taking a few classes this Fall at the Work Force Training Center. through NIC college, you can take special classes either for fun or earn a certificate. I am planning on taking a Voice over class. the lady that has the oil of olay commercial and Colgate Tooth paste commercial is teaching the class..

The second class is Movie making magic. I need to learn how to upload my video and edit the video and then I can narrate the video as well. It should be a fun class then I don’t have to have people come over and help me all the time.

The last class I am planning on taking is Free-lance writing and blogging. I want to write and blog that is read and that people want to read. I know there is always room to grow when you write or blog.

I should be having a good fall season. It is my favorite seadon of them all. I love the cool crisp air in the morning and in the evening. Coffe just tastes better when the air is chilly. I love to snuggle up in my favorite quilt with my son’s cat. Also Septemeber, Jeff and I turn 50. I look foward to the new season in my life. i have had a few new seasons in my life the past 5 years. I look at this time in my life as agrowing season, a time to heal and to laugh with friends over a good cup of coffee and a hug.

The End Of Vacation…..

August 15, 2011 at 3:32 am (Uncategorized) (, , , , , , , , , , , , , )

Tonight is the end of my week vacation. . I had a good week anyway.

Wednesday I went with a good friend who happened to have her vacation the same time I did,how did this happen? We went around Hauser Lake, had lunch and then went part way around Hayden Lake. it was a beautiful day for a drive. we haven’t been able to get together in a long time. we both have different schedules.

Thursday I went to the Post falls the chamber to get some info on becoming a member. I also would like to become a member of the Post falls Women in Business. I look forward to the business opportunities they have to offer this author.

Friday- I went to the Parade of Homes in Post falls and in Hayden Lake. A friend and I were able to veiw some beautiful homes in our area. I always look forward to this event the end of summer. I submitted another story to the GoodNews Northwest Publication. Let’s see if they print this story. I have been attempting for the past 3 months to have 2 stories published. I am still waiting to hear back on the submission to the Chicken Soup story. It would be an honor to have one of my stories printed They go all over the world.

Saturday- Had my assistant help me to get the ol computer started up and running again. It just got disconnected. I also posted a few more pictures in my Healing in the Storms page on FB.

Sunday- Doing laundry now. Earlier today, I went around Fernan Lake to see a couple homes in the Parade of Home Tour. I couldn’t find the house, so I drove around the Lake. it was fun to see all the families out fishing on the banks and in boats. The Lake was a pretty blue/green today. Perfect day to be out and about. I did find a couple more houses to look at on my way home. Now it is almost 8:30 and I am winding down and get ready for work tomorrow.

I am looking into a few more book signings for the last part of summer. I will keep yu posted on more info. I am also looking into a couple more interveiws to post of my FB page.

Thank You for your continued support and looking at my various pages and web sites. It helps to know a few of you are out there and reading my blog and seeing my FB pages.

Nice saturday…

July 16, 2011 at 5:10 pm (Uncategorized) (, , , , , , , , )

This morning is a beautiful Saturday. I have a few things to do. I am taking my mom to Walmart to get her glasses and a few groceries, a neighbor and I are re spray painting a couple of outside chairs for mom for her big family reunion in a couple weeks. I am going to edit a video I had done last weekend at the Garden Plaza book signing. I had so much fun at the book signing. I was able to see some friends I haven’t been able to connect with for awhile.

Some of you may have read my story about Levi in the Press this week. It was truly a tribute to a fine young man my son had become. he is truly missed everyday. I will post a video he appeared in a few years ago at a concert. It is hard to beleive he has been gone now 4 years. time goes by so fast anymore I can’t keep up.

I will be updating my blog more this weekend. Some of you may have gotten an invite to my BeKnow page. I would appreciate some feed back from you. I value everyone of you and love keeping in touch. thank you for all your on going love and support for the book and me as a person.

My funny book exerpt reading

July 4, 2011 at 4:20 am (Uncategorized) (, , , , , , , , , )

My assistant Ashley and I went to a park in Post Falls this afternoon. I was getting ready to video record some excerpts from “Healing in the Storms.” About half way through recording my first story”My dear friends”, a car is trying to start-up. It keeps trying and trying. I am laughing so hard at this time, we had to wait until the car left the park so we could continue. I just had my assistant start over.

My assistant and I atarted to  record my second excerpt from the book. I was about half way through reading this story, someone started to let off fireworks. I told Ashley, why don’t we wait and do this Wednesday of this week instead. We went home and took some profile photos of me instead. So it was still a productive evening, just not for recording a book excerpt.

I will be going down to the bay tomorrow night to watch the fire works . The homes at the bay have a war to see who has the bigger fire work display. it is fun sitting on the big rock where Levi used to jump off the rope swing and swim.

Adding a new Face Book page.

June 26, 2011 at 4:17 pm (Uncategorized) (, , , , , , , , , )

I am creating a new FB page dedicated to Levi. What really  touched my heart was, all of Levi’s friends kept his MySpace open for over 3 years. I would like to have a place that friends can write a loving memory of my son. Please keep the comments clean and with fondness. I know he had a time when he was not a nice young man.

I will be post some of his artwork, and maybe some poems he had written in the past. I am sure there are a lot of people who may not really remember Levi as he was young when they moved away or they just didn’t see us that often. Thank You to all of you that kept Levi’s MySpace alive. it meant a lot to me. Now more people can remember the fine young man I had the privilege to raise.

Have a blessed day and a great July 4th holiday. Julie

So much to be excited about

June 23, 2011 at 4:48 am (Uncategorized) (, , , , , , , , , , )

This evening, I was invited to attend the Woman In Business breakfast on June 30th. I have been interested in becoming a part of this organization for some time now.

This will give me the opportunity to meet some of the business women in the area and talk about my longterm business plan for marketing “Healing In the Storms.” I have been busy getting together a e-book to market. I have been in contact with book, I have been given some material that will help generate some more sales. It is exciting, and exhausting at the same time the amount of time it takes to continue to market the book properly. When I wrote the book, I just wanted to touch lives in the same way Jesus touched mine after I lost Levi. I have been given some very positive comments and reviews. I want to thank all of you for your kind words, support, and most of all your friendship. It is a great feeling to get a e-mail from a classmate after 30 years who tells me they loved the book and they could not put it down until the book was finished. This book was a difficult book to write, but I am thankful I listened to the voice of the Lord and got it the book written and published.

I have been obsessed with trying to lose 5 lbs. for the summer. I started a new exercise. Where I work ,there are a flight of stairs going down to a lower level. I started to go up and down the stairs 10 times like a stair stepper. My employers have a new dog they rescued at a yard sell(You heard right) the guy couldn’t afford to take Nikki to Florida, so we brought her home. Well, I started to go down the stairs and Nikki followed me. I started to go back up the stairs and Nikki just watched me seeing what I was doing. She didn’t follow me up and down the stairs my 10 times, she just looked at me like”what are you doing?” Nikki just went exploring into the yard  while I exercised.

Tomorrow is thursday. I can’t believe how fast this week is going. I have another estate sale to go to of a very sweet lady who passed away about 3 months ago. This dear sweet  was a painter. She used to teach painting to both my aunts and my dad in the early 1980’s. She was a beautiful  painter as well as a friend. She will be greatly missed. I have not been to her house in a few years, so this will be a

fun time but a hard time. I wanted to go to this estate sale because I wanted to have something that Ginger once held dear. She has a lovely house and like I said, her paintings were beautiful.

I think back on when I first moved to Post falls some 30 years ago. I can’t believe i was married here, raised Levi after Jerry died,  and I am moving forward in the great blessings of the Lord in this great small city. Jerry and I bought our house together, it is amazing I have lived in the same home for 25 years now. I have a nice office to work on the new book and blog and catch upon e-mail and FB.

I love to be able to go into my dressing room every morning and get dressed. I never thought I would have a special place to get dressed. It was hard when my son moved out of the house. I was an empty nester. I never realized that if your child doesn’t come over very often, have a big house for 1. I had to go to the neighbors house or my moms house to see my son. Oh the special memories.
