We wake up each morning, anticipating the first cup of  and off to work we go.

Pumpkin spice coffee and creamers are out- even more reasons to love our coffee.

My cup of deliciousness was perked in my Victorian inspired kitchen and enjoyed sipped on sipped on my settee.

Everyday is a lovely day. happy National Coffee day.

Wishing You A Happy Valentine’s day

February 14, 2013 at 11:50 pm (Uncategorized) (, , , , , , , , )

Happy valentine’s day everyone.

I know today can be a hard day. For some, today may be the first Valentine’s day you have spent after a divorce, some may have children in the Military, for others it may be your first year since your children have left the nest. Some may have a special someone to celebrate with tonight and many do not. Wherever you are in your life, always remember how much you are loved by family and friends around you even if you didn’t receive a card or a phone call, you are very loved and thought of. I lost my husband to complications from his diabetes. I raised my young son alone from childhood through his teens. In July 2007, my son died in a tragic car accident. He was only 20.  I understand the pain many are feeling. Today is sweethearts day and I do have a sweetheart. God has walked me through some of the darkest days of my life. Through His grace, mercy, love and daily encouragement, I am walking forward in the good things that still lie ahead for my life. I had to realize the deaths of both my husband and son did not mean the death of me as well.  I am excited for my future and what it holds. Life is not easy, but with the love of friends and family I have learned how to live again. Life is good indeed!

New Years Eve

December 31, 2012 at 10:45 pm (Uncategorized) (, , , , , )

Another year is almost over.

I know this year was full of terror plots, mass shootings, severe storms,  and a Myan hoax that brought fear to many lives this year. We live in a world full of deceit,  the fiscal cliff looming over our heads, disconteintment, Obama Care worries. We will soon end a new year and begin a brand new year; So many have a fear over what next year will bring. will it be a better year some will ask, will our sons and daughters finally get to return home safely others will ask.  I hope we keep praying for our Leaders of this Nation. I hope we keep moving forward for a better tomorrow for our children, I hope we keep our family values, I hope we can work together to provide solutions to the problems in our Country and not just complain.

We never know what tomorrow can bring. Let’s hug our children tight tonight and tell them how special they are and how glad we are they are in our lives. No matter how long our children are allowed to be in our lives, let us rejoice in the many blessing and joy they bring to our lives. I lost my son Levi in July 2007 in a tragic car accident. he was only 20. I am proud of the fine young man Levi had become. I am thankful for the last time Levi and I put gas in Levi’s new car.

Everyone have a safe,and happy New Year’s Eve tonight.15010628-new-years-illustration-with-counter

Christmas Traditions

December 7, 2012 at 8:52 pm (Uncategorized) (, , , , , , , )

I remember a time when the house

was filled with laughter, my young son Levi and his grandpa decorating the tree with ornaments and lights. The talking moose and snoring santa not forgotten, each had their place in the living room. Grandma in the kitchen making cookies and planning the holiday meal. Uncle Jeff made his santa appearance while my son was fast asleep. I remember sledding parties on christmas day,all the cousins gathering at my parents home on a cold winter day.

My family  tradition of visiting relatives on christmas eve. The tradition started when my twin brother and I were children. My parents had the neighbors put gifts under the tree while the family went visiting. On our way home that evening, dad would look at christmas lights. this has always been my favorite part of christmas. I loved to see the beautiful home decorated.

When my husband and I were married and started our family, I kept the tradition alive of visiting friends and light seeing. My husband and I went to the resort to see santa when our son Levi was two-year old. I remember spend the afternoon looking at all the decoration and listening to the Christmas carols. I treasure the memories of these special days.

my life was forever changed with the death of my husband from complications from his diabetes 6 short years after we were married and with the death of my son Levi in July 2007 at age 20. Christmas is quiet now just my mom and I. Dad died in 2002 from his disease. Life can change in a moment. The holidays are hard without my loved ones here to help celebrate, but I have treasured memories of times past when the laughter filled the house and lively conversations filled the dinner table with good cheer.Levi Degon0051

It Is feeling a Little Like Christmas

November 26, 2012 at 11:57 pm (Uncategorized) (, , , , , , , , , , )

It is beginning to look like Christmas.

I think the stores started to stock the shelves for Christmas starting in October. I have seen on FB, a cartoon that says it all. Santa running behind the Easter bunny, the bunny saying “wait your turn,it is only Easter”. They say the older you get, the faster the years go by. I agree. what grieves my heart the most is the fact you can not say Merry Christmas anymore. I refuse to say Happy Holidays.

Every family has their own traditions on how the holiday is celebrated. As a young widowed mother raising my four-year old son alone, I had little money for gifts for my son. My  parents bought Levi his winter coat and his snow boots . I remember feeling like a failure that I could not provide everything my son needed. I went to bed one night and felt like the Holy spirit whispering in my ear , that I am not a failure.  I had many difficulties and hardships raising my son but Levi and I survived them all.   To give back to my community, when I started working  with the Action Community Partners. I work at  at the front counter, I love meeting and greeting the families who come in .

Life is what you make of it. I chose to make lemonade out of the lemons life has given to me. I realized I cannot change the past, but I can have a positive attitude towards my future.
