Happy New year!!!!!

January 2, 2012 at 8:26 pm (Uncategorized) (, , , , , , , , , , , , , , , )

I would like to wish everyone a Happy New year ful of prosperity and a look into a brand new year. This year like every past year, holds uncertainty. The econemy goes up and down, our rent goes up, but no raise to help offset the cost. Groceries are Expensive. It is not so funny when we have to choose between put gas in our car, feed you children OR pets, or pay our rent.

At least gas prices are starting to come down some. Every new year,we wonder how this year is going to be different than lasy year. We just have to wait, watch and see what developes. I don’t listen to predictions because predictions have a way of not becoming a reality. I do know that it is tough out there. I feel sorry for our young generation. There are not many jobs to compete for. Adults are having a tough enough time trying to make ends meet let alone a young college student.

It is a nice morning here as I sit in my office writting this blog to you. I enjoy the sunshine, but it doen not feel like winter to me. Last year had a good snow. I miss driving in the stuff. I know what you are thinking.SNOW is she kidding? No I am not kidding. I like the snow, It is nice to look at all the snow capped moutains, flocked tree tops,  white lawns, you bundle up in a warm coat and scarf. Coffee just seems to taste better when it is Cold outside, with snow  falling quietly out your big window. I guess there are no accidents to speak of, no one slidding into a ditch to get pulled out, no one is pulling out in front of you only to hit the curb after loosing control. There are a few points that are good, but I do miss a white winter this year. I know the season is not over yet, but we had a whiter Thanksgiving this last year than a Christmas.

I do not know what my future holds for me. I have had some people try sand tell me what is going to happen this year in my life. I am sorry, but the only one who knows what my future holds,is Jesus. I know there are well meaning folks out there, but I reguard what He says. There are so many people who are concerned about the fact that I am single. I can not beleive that friends are wondering if I am going to marry this year. it some what cracks me up. Some people (me) are happy in the relationship I have right now, and do not want to discuss if I will ever marry in my future. I know these folks are worried about me after Levi died, but I am happy, healthy and doing very well at that. I like the way I have decorated my house and I do not want to change it because someone else did not like Victorian style. I feel very comfortable in my little house and like to “take a step back in time” when I come through the front door. it is always a treat to walk on the carpet your son helped to install for his mom. I thought it was so sweet of Levi a few years ago, he wanted to “Fix” his mom’s house up more for her so she had a nicer place to live. If Levi could only see the house. He would be shocked at his bedroom. it is truly A Victorian dessing room.I love to get dressed in the morning and put on my pajamas at night.

I have an interveiw in the morning at a place I used to work a few years ago. I will be working as a dietary Assistant if I do get the job. The Company was a good place to work in the past. In my last job, I only had one person to cook for and please, NOW… it should not be to bad. I will keep you posted on the update.

Fall IS FINALLY HERE

October 14, 2011 at 1:43 am (Uncategorized) (, , , , , )

Don’t click off this post please. I know some of my readers are summer beach goers and some of us like the dreaded S word. It is true.I am looking forward to searching for the Fall leave tour in the area. I love to get a coffee from a coffee stand(Fall Aholic) not kidding. You combine coffee, carmel and butter rum for an earthy flavor.I know some of you are wondering what the coffee tastes like. A leaf.It is not a sweet flavor it tastes like fall.

I am updating the blog and added some stories to the “Healing in the Storms” page of FB.

I guess my blog has gotten a facelift without my knowing about it. The background has changed it seems. I like it, so it is okay with me. I am getting together with a friend to see if I can increase my readers and see if I can blog differently. Becaus I have some free time, I am looking into an audio recording of a couple excerpts from the book. I am excited to be able to have my friends listen to a couple of stories from the book. I am trying to get an e-book out as well. I am doing the research since I have a few days off now I can devote to reorganize some of my websites to be better sources of information.

I don’t have to much happening in October. I have a book signing/ one year celebration for the book next week and then it is mom’s birthday.

I am half way through writing the next book”More Healing in the Storms” I had a dear friend ask me recently, “Is the second book going to be as good as your first one I hope” This warmed my heart. Yes, I think it will as good as the first one. I have some more stories of Moorpark and i get to tell on my husband Jerry some more, and who could forget the antics of my precious son?

Barking out the car window(Not MINE) But that is another story…

I have had a blessed year so far. I knooow God still has some more surprises in store for my life. I am just glad I had listened to Him and wrote the book even if I made a few mistakes. I was working  two jobs at the time. But it has been well received so far.

The End Of Vacation…..

August 15, 2011 at 3:32 am (Uncategorized) (, , , , , , , , , , , , , )

Tonight is the end of my week vacation. . I had a good week anyway.

Wednesday I went with a good friend who happened to have her vacation the same time I did,how did this happen? We went around Hauser Lake, had lunch and then went part way around Hayden Lake. it was a beautiful day for a drive. we haven’t been able to get together in a long time. we both have different schedules.

Thursday I went to the Post falls the chamber to get some info on becoming a member. I also would like to become a member of the Post falls Women in Business. I look forward to the business opportunities they have to offer this author.

Friday- I went to the Parade of Homes in Post falls and in Hayden Lake. A friend and I were able to veiw some beautiful homes in our area. I always look forward to this event the end of summer. I submitted another story to the GoodNews Northwest Publication. Let’s see if they print this story. I have been attempting for the past 3 months to have 2 stories published. I am still waiting to hear back on the submission to the Chicken Soup story. It would be an honor to have one of my stories printed They go all over the world.

Saturday- Had my assistant help me to get the ol computer started up and running again. It just got disconnected. I also posted a few more pictures in my Healing in the Storms page on FB.

Sunday- Doing laundry now. Earlier today, I went around Fernan Lake to see a couple homes in the Parade of Home Tour. I couldn’t find the house, so I drove around the Lake. it was fun to see all the families out fishing on the banks and in boats. The Lake was a pretty blue/green today. Perfect day to be out and about. I did find a couple more houses to look at on my way home. Now it is almost 8:30 and I am winding down and get ready for work tomorrow.

I am looking into a few more book signings for the last part of summer. I will keep yu posted on more info. I am also looking into a couple more interveiws to post of my FB page.

Thank You for your continued support and looking at my various pages and web sites. It helps to know a few of you are out there and reading my blog and seeing my FB pages.

Very expensive car problem

July 28, 2011 at 2:38 am (Uncategorized) (, , , , , , , , )

Yeaterday I went to see a friend to do up some t shirts promoting the book. I went to leave his place, and the car wouldn’t start. i had it towed to Post Falls last night. I found out that the timing belt broke, plus the water pump is leaking I won’t get my car back until Friday sometime. So far the cost is &700.00. I was going to be getting cool t shirts to promote my book but…

I am lookin g forward to the  Leigh family Reunion on August 6th. I haven’t seen candy and Dennis for a few years now. it will be nice to see her again. I am glad mom is hosting the event. she has not been having trouble with gout. But she wanted to have it,so it will be nice.

RASPBERRIES. Come to 2570 Ponderosa Blvd. in Post falls and pick. They will be ripe for only 2 more weeks. there are still so many . Come for your jam supplies or popsicles,or yogurt and raspberry freezer treat. it is going to get hot.lol. it probably will for 2 days.

I hope you are having a great summer so far. I will let you know how the car got fixed, if I had a nervous breakdown before then, etc. I am just kidding. I am having a better summer than I expected to. i ususally don’t enjoy the summer heat, but this year hasn’t been to bad so far. SMILING.

I am working on another book signing in Ausgust. i will keep you posted on more details as they evolve.

Nice saturday…

July 16, 2011 at 5:10 pm (Uncategorized) (, , , , , , , , )

This morning is a beautiful Saturday. I have a few things to do. I am taking my mom to Walmart to get her glasses and a few groceries, a neighbor and I are re spray painting a couple of outside chairs for mom for her big family reunion in a couple weeks. I am going to edit a video I had done last weekend at the Garden Plaza book signing. I had so much fun at the book signing. I was able to see some friends I haven’t been able to connect with for awhile.

Some of you may have read my story about Levi in the Press this week. It was truly a tribute to a fine young man my son had become. he is truly missed everyday. I will post a video he appeared in a few years ago at a concert. It is hard to beleive he has been gone now 4 years. time goes by so fast anymore I can’t keep up.

I will be updating my blog more this weekend. Some of you may have gotten an invite to my BeKnow page. I would appreciate some feed back from you. I value everyone of you and love keeping in touch. thank you for all your on going love and support for the book and me as a person.

Radio Interveiw maybe next week

July 14, 2011 at 4:17 am (Uncategorized) (, , , , , , , , , )

I just finished e-mailing Karri Thoreson. She will be setting up a date to interveiw about the book early next week. I am excited about being able to talk about the book and tell listeners more about what had happened in my life.

If you get the Press, I have a new story about Levi in todays edition.I was surprised to see my story because Spokesman reveiw rejected my story.

Look for me in Goodnews next month also. I am putting together a story for the end of summer(don’t hit me) I do like fall best though.

I loved the rain this morning. Now I don’t have to water my lawn for 2 more days. Such is the life…

For those of you who love raspberries, “Rich’s Little Red Raspberry farm” on Ponderosa  Blvd. in Post falls will have a bumper crop this year. I counted 9-12 berries on each plant. The owners also put up picnic tables this year. I love the farm because it is just nice people selling you pick raspberries by the pound. i used to go let Levi pick when he was younger. We had fun.

I am adding to my blog more. I have added 4 new pages and I am constructing some book signing pages and my interveiw pages. I will have some video for Amazon.com of my last book signing this week.

have the rest of a great week everyone. Thank you for reading my blog and your support.

Funny story about Artwalk Book signing.

June 16, 2011 at 10:09 pm (Uncategorized) (, , , , , , , , , , , )

My friend Faye, Rosalie, Stormy and I all went to the Art walk book signing last Friday evening. After the event, Stormy wanted to stay longer for the wine tasting. Faye and I drove home in style. Stormy’s Cadillac. When we drove into Stormy’s driveway,we both got out of the car,got out belongings, and forgot we didn’t get our books and I didn’t know where I had put my purse. We went into the house to call Stormy, because Rosalie never has a house key with her. Faye and I were trying to figure out how to get out of the house and lock it because the front   from the inside and we didn’t have an extra house key. Meantime,  I found my purse where I left it when I had arrived earlier. It was in the basement on a table.(Good place for it).

Faye was ready to eat because she didn’t eat all day, so we headed out through the garage exit. I let Faye out but I was wondering how I was going to get out now. I opened the garage door and clicked it to close again. I made a jump for it. It was like out of a movie Faye had said. I flew down the garage stairs and through the door before it closed again. I was told later by Stormy that if you get in the way of the light,I garage would close again because it was child proof. Boy I really know what it is to be a stunt person now.

I really had a good time that night. I met so many nice people and sold a few more books as well.

I have another Book signing at Garden Plaza in Post Falls on July 9, 2011  from 3:30 – 5:00p.m. Garden Plaza is an Assisted Living Facility. I was blessed to be able to serve meals to these sweet people. The residents were excited to hear about the book. They all told me when the book was published to please get the a copy. I was sad to have to quit working for a great company, but I was working 7 days a week and couldn’t function.I cut back housr so I could devote the time to take care of my mom who was struggling with some health issues.

I just finished with a new story for the July issue of Good News Northwest. The story is a tribute to my son who I lost in a car accident 4 years ago. The paper is available the first weekend in July. For those who can’t read the paper, I will post it in July on FB and my blog.

The Bed And Breakfast Open House Today

June 12, 2011 at 4:35 pm (Uncategorized) (, , , , , , , , , )

I am off to the Idaho B&B Spring open house this afternoon.I have gone to this function for the past 4 years now. Before I had the weekends off, I had to request the day off and pray they remembered to give me the day off so I could go. Mom,when she could walk better used to attend with I and a few of the Post Falls Flappers. It was so much fun to be with these ladies.I probably will go alone today as my friend was busy. I needed to get out for a few hours before I head back to the new work week. As a joke,I used to have friends come to my “Mock”B&B tour with lunch included.Someone was concerned because she really thought I was a B&B Host and needed to be at home that day so people could tour my home as well.It was a great feeling someone thought my home would even be a contender.

I really have worked hard to spruce the place up. 2 weeks ago I went to an Estate sale that had all Victorian(I was born in the wrong era) staples.I did not over spend mind you,but I did get some great deals.it truly is a great feeling to be able to say I am finished with my house. Now I just have to be home long enough to keep the outside looking good.I keep the lawn done, but I am NOT a gardener in any form.God Bless you guys that Love yard work and can work outside on the weekend for hours. I can not.

I was honored four summers ago, when a dear friend of mine gave me a pine tree for the back yard in Levi’s memory. The tree is doing well. This gester along with a nice Bird bath gave me the desire to make the back yard look good.I try to Victorian it up(come on) I love the style of the decorating inside and out.It is my piece of happiness.

Summer is now kicked off.Yeah to some of you eww to others. I have been on the eww side of things,I hope the sitter works out this summer. It is so hard to try to find someone on a moments notice.

May God richly Bless you where you are today, may you sense Him smiling down on you with His Glory and Love He has for you and your life. i am Blessed to have everyone of you in my life and thank you dearly for reading my blog and for your friendship. Have a great day.

The weekend Is Finally Here

May 20, 2011 at 11:36 pm (Uncategorized) (, , , , , , , , , , )

Yeah,my weekend has officially started.I am going to go to a Victorian estate sale tomorrow morning with my boss. See if I can find another picture for my living room. I don’t like the one that is in there now.

Had a fulfilling week though. I love  the job where I am working; Rich can be moody sometimes, but the job just the same is very rewarding. The daughter encourages me to goof around by taking Rich somewhere. you can’t beat that. even if you just go down by the river and watch the current for an hour.It is just so tough, but hey,….

I am excited because the book signing I am doing with 2 other women, is going to be at the Art walk for June. There is going to be an ad put in the paper this time.I love being able to talk about the Lord and my book to people in the community,I get to share God’s loving and his healing touch in my life the past 4 years.I am so Blessed that I can be a testament of him everyday.People tell me all the time, they cannot believe I am this sane after what happened to my son. I tell them It is God not I that is pushing me forward in the life He wants me to complete.Like I have said before, i never though I would have written a book about my life and how God has helped me to put my life back together, move forward in him and be who I am today because he taught me perseverance not to ever give up.I knew I would be alright, and that I could cling to His promises.

This is the first year I have really looked forward to anything to do with summer. I usually hate this season. it is to hot, everyone including me are cranky because of the heat(could be because I worked Hotel for so many yers),but I really starting to enjoy all the seasons now.I hope all of you have a great summer,it will be here in a few short weeks.

I am putting the book on Kindle next week,so it will be available through Amazon.com. I am also working on a radio  commercial(I need an assistant really.)But this is just one of the many things I love about the Lord.Ifeel like the Lord is telling me to promote slowly or you will get burned out. it is hard work to get the book out there, but with the support of you, I am doing pretty well. Thank you so much for all the kind words and buying”Healing In The Storms”.

I will blog of my good deals tomorrow. Julie
